On Thursday April 28th we're thrilled to host our first ever Nordic Aquavit Pairing dinner! But the first question is: What the heck is Aquavit? Great question! Aquavit translates to "Water of Life" and reflects the rugged beauty of Scandinavia. It is distilled from grain or potato much like vodka but has a rich warmth from local herbs and spices that has taken good care of people in northern Europe for centuries.

With each aquavit we will pair it with a traditional dish from its corresponding country of origin. We will be featuring aquavit and food from:

Svol Swedish Style Aquavit

Served with house-made dill pickles and rye bread

Iceland: Brennivin Aquavit

Laxbleikur - Homemade smoked salmon, skyr creme fraiche, dill, rye chips, lemon

Sweden: O.P. Anderson Aquavit

Kraftlag - Crayfish Boil, dark beer, lemon, dill

Denmark: Aalborg Jubilaeums Aquavit

Flaesketeg - Pork Roast, gravy, caramelized potatoes

Norway: Linie Aquavit

Elg Indrefilet - Elk tenderloin, red currant demi glace, mashed potato

Aebelskiver - Apple pancake fritter, raspberry jam, whipped cream

And in addition to the incredible pairing we're thrilled to welcome Bronwyn Bird and Justin Nawn as they share their passion for Scandinavian music on the nyckelharpa and guitar. And we'll also feature mead and guest beer from all over the Nordic world!
